Delete Your Olak Account

1. Overview

This page explains how you can delete your Olak account and the data associated with it. Olak is a business networking platform for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) provided by One Differential Private Limited ("One Differential", "we", "our", or "us").

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. After you delete your account, you will not be able to sign in to the deleted account again, and your profile and private data will be removed.

2. How to Delete Your Account (in-app)

The simplest and recommended way to delete your account is from within the Olak app, where you are already signed in. This method verifies your identity automatically so only you can delete your own account.

  1. Open the Olak app on your device and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile.
  3. Open Settings.
  4. Tap Delete Account.
  5. Review the summary of what will be deleted and what will be kept.
  6. Confirm by tapping Delete My Account.
  7. Your identity is re-verified, the account and its data are deleted, and you are signed out.

3. What Gets Deleted

Deleting your account removes your private data, including:

  • Your profile information (name, email, phone number, photograph, company details);
  • Your connections with other members;
  • Your conversations and messages;
  • Your notifications and contributions;
  • Your private Business Page content and notes; and
  • Your Olak account itself, including your sign-in with the underlying account provider.

4. What Is Kept

To preserve the community for other members, certain public content is retained but anonymised:

  • Your public asks, responses, comments, and appreciations remain visible to other members but are shown as "[deleted]" and are no longer linked to you;
  • Replies and comments made by other members on your posts are preserved; and
  • Records required to be retained by applicable law (such as transaction and subscription records) are retained for the legally required period, as described below.

5. Retention Periods

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected or to comply with applicable legal, regulatory, tax, or accounting requirements. After you delete your account:

  • Account and profile information: deleted, with data recoverable for up to 30 days after deletion to allow for account recovery and fraud prevention;
  • Authentication logs (Firebase): retained for 90 days for security and fraud-prevention purposes;
  • Transaction and subscription records (RevenueCat, App Store, Play Store): retained for 8 years to comply with applicable Indian tax and accounting laws; and
  • Anonymised public content: retained as part of the community as described in Section 4 above.

6. Requesting Deletion by Email

If you are unable to delete your account from within the app, you may submit a deletion request by emailing us from the email address registered on your account:

For your protection, we will verify your identity before processing the request. Please note that email requests are processed manually and may take up to 30 days from verification. The same deletion and retention rules described above apply.
